Hey there FOUNDER, glad to have you, your vision, and BIG business dreams here rocking with me.
Welcome to the first edition of my newsletter where I will share my opinions, learnings and industry thought leadership on the Start Up leadership space and more importantly how together, we will create teams and corporate cultures of the future.
It may not seem like it now but your contribution to the economic landscape is huge and let’s not forget the workforce that supports your super power Start Up and inter galactic goals.
Which is where I come in. As an Executive coach and champion of emotional intelligence and positive psychology principles, I have seen how the struggles, mindset blocks and co-founder personality clashes can shape your business baby. When you throw into the mix a team that is constantly at odds, having emotional meltdowns and a lack of belonging I am well positioned to support you through all the challenges you may come across.
Come on, you and I both know..
“Great things in business are never done by one person, they are done by a team”.
Understanding the intersection of mental health, wellbeing and inclusion allows you to recruit the right people, retain happy teams and build a culture that supports productivity and revenue generation.
Your mission if you are ready to accept it, is to be mega successful but look after your team and individuals along the way. No need to worry, I have my super woman cape on to help you do just that!
With a high proportion of scale up failures being due to unhappy staff members, poor leadership or poor recruitment decisions, it is a no brainer.
Here are 3 ways you can assess your current team structure and adapt and embed the right behaviours as you move forward.
1. Ask your team to reflect on their EQ, Emotional Intelligence. As a group of individuals are they ready to listen, empathize and deal with conflict in the best way possible?
2. Empowering your teams to self-regulate in times of stress will help to relieve situations that may cause friction and reduced collaboration. If your teams don’t have good self-regulation skills, they may lack self-confidence and self-esteem, and have trouble dealing with stress or frustration.
3. Positive psychology is a great tool to build happier workplaces. Creating procedures and behaviours based on positivity, support and motivation helps your people foster happier work lives.
I have spent 25+ years in various organisations focused on revenue, the bottom line and strategy and although these markers have a place in the workplace of today the creation and empowerment of healthier, collaborative and inclusive cultures needs to be the new currency in the organisations that are being built.
I am ready for our MISSION and have my multi faceted, toolkit to help us decipher the “Start Up Culture Code”. Are you ready?
